Detective Donovan and The Price of Love is a game created for the Coventry University game jam - a 48-hour long game jam for the students of Coventry University.
The game is a noir-styled story-based adventure game about Detective Donovan, a detective with a broken gaydar. Regardless of his utter obliviousness to people being queer he's a good private eye and helps Carmen find her missing... sister?, Althea. This was my intro to Narrative Design - I personally wrote all of the dialogue and inserted it using Yarn, and learned some skills to keep the story consistent. I also created a script that vocalizes the sentences being said into a set of sounds, something I am quite proud of, as with some extra work it could sound quite well. |
