Underdose

Underdose was a (now shelved) 2D narrative survival game with resource management elements taking place in a dystopian future where corporations have exceeding amounts of power and medicine shortages hit the poorest parts of the society.

I worked as a Designer on this project since the start — this means that at the beginning my tasks revolved around designing and prototyping the main mechanics of the game on paper and in-engine (such as the sicknesses and conditions that the patients had as well as the meds), and later on balancing the mechanics to ensure they are fun to engage with — all using Miro, Confluence and Google Docs when not in-engine.

I also worked on the Narrative Design part of the game — the first draft of the story was done by me, and I later worked with the Writer on ensuring that the mechanical and narrative parts are cohesive. I also used the Dialogue System asset to work with and input the dialogues and the dialogue trees into the project.

In addition to creating meds and conditions for patients, I also wrote in-game messages and news.
