Way Too Many Bullets - 2nd Year - Concept Development
During my 2nd year of studying at Coventry University we had a module named Concept Development for Game Design. What we had to do is basically come up with a game idea, write a High Concept Document, then create a prototype of the game, and then write a follow-up report.
My game idea was to utilize the controller to the full potential and create a fun and chaotic multiplayer experience. As you can see the game is a multiplayer top-down arena shooter in a similar vein to Geometry Wars. The twist is the controls - a single controller hosts two players, each grabbing one side of the pad, using a single stick to move around and the shoulder buttons to shoot/use possible items. That brings the players together, making it possible for up to 8 players on a single screen if playing on an Xbox or PlayStation. And because the sprites are small and similarly colored it makes it even more chaotic. |
