West Gamble RPG
West Gamble is an RPG system originally created for the One Page RPG contest that was held by a local Coventry RPG group in 2016.
For this contest I created a simple Spaghetti Western system. I wanted to design something with a more unique way of determining skill checks, which ended up being a card minigame, so the successes feel more skill-based than luck-based while still having a chance to fail or succeed regardless of character's skill.
In 2024 I decided to come back to this project and to add more to it. I ended up with 8 pages of content detailing exactly how to create characters, play, and created a short session/campaign for the players to get inspired. Additionally I styled the text to be reminiscent of a historical newspaper, not unlike those in the Wild West. The new version is currently available only in Polish, but I am planning on localizing it to English at some point.
